Lisa Olivia Munn was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Kimberly Schmid is of Chinese origin and grew up in Vietnam. Her father Winston Barrett Munn is from an American family that has deep roots in America's South. Her parents divorced when she was just the age of two. The mother of Olivia raised her as well as her stepfather who is a United States Air Force officer. The family emigrated to Oklahoma, and lived in several places, but she spent most of her time in Tokyo. During this time, Olivia was a part of several theater productions. Later she became an Japanese model. Olivia, who had relocated with her family to Los Angeles in order to achieve her dream of becoming an actor, continued to work towards this goal when the family moved back to America. She began her acting career in a tiny part. Then, her career began to take off after she was cast in the role of Mily Acuna on the Hawaii-lensed TV show Beyond the Break (2006). In 2007, she played Rob Schneider's Receptionist. The G4 podcasts include "The Daily Nut" as well as "Formula D". Her love of surfing has been evident following the television show Beyond the Break. She is also a black-belt in Taekwondo. When she was two, her mother got married. She was married a US Air Force serviceman. She was raised primarily in Tokyo, Japan where her stepfather was a member.
