Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico. She's an American-Mexican actress. She sings as well. Raised by her mother throughout the USA she had to face a lot of racial taunts and made her feel being unwelcome. In the ninth grade, after a school audition, where she received praises for her voice as she built confidence. The experience not only helped her gain confidence but changed her outlook on life. In the year 22 she graduated at the Julliard School of New York. In 1993 she made her Broadway debut with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was You've Got Mail. Her most memorable break came from her performance as The Lady of The Lake as she appeared in the original Broadway adaptation of Spamalot. She won the Tony Award and received great praise for the role. Later that year, as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy on ABC her role was given greater appreciation. She is a popular singer. she has also released both songs and plays. In her role as an activist, she strives to promote LGBT equality.
